1. What Is Needle Valve Hot Runner

The needle valve hot runner system is a high-precision active gate control structure for injection molds. Different from traditional open hot runners that rely on plastic cooling to close the gate, it adopts mechanical valve needle opening and closing structure driven by pneumatic or hydraulic pressure. It can actively and accurately control the opening and closing time of each nozzle gate, realizing timed glue feeding and glue cutting. It is the preferred hot runner solution for high-precision, high-appearance and large-scale mass-production plastic parts.

2. Working Principle of Hot Runner

The whole working cycle is divided into three precise steps, fully synchronized with the injection molding machine signal:

1. Gate Closing State (Before Injection):

The valve needle tightly presses the gate to completely seal the runner, effectively preventing melt drooling, wire drawing and material leakage.

2. Gate Opening State (Filling Stage):

Synchronized with the injection signal, the driving device pushes the valve needle back to open the gate, and the molten plastic fills the cavity stably and evenly.

3. Gate Cutting State (After Pressure Holding):

After filling and pressure holding are completed, the valve needle instantly advances to cut off the glue flow and seal the gate tightly. No residual glue protrusion is left on the product surface.
